Alita is forging a leadership position in urology and female healthcare markets where there are multiple examples of underserved conditions and patient populations. The strategic decision to focus on the urology and female healthcare markets resulted primarily from the following factors:
- Significant unmet needs exist for new therapies in certain urologic and female health conditions given a relative lack of drug development in these areas in recent years
- Physicians and patients are eager for, and receptive to, new treatment alternatives
- The approximately 10,000 urologists and 45,000 OB/Gyns in the United States represent a defined and manageable physician audience that is feasible for an emerging company to target commercially
- Alita's management team has extensive experience in these therapeutic areas
