Founded in September 2006 and funded by Warburg Pincus, a global leader in private equity, Alita Pharmaceuticals is a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of novel urologic and female healthcare products.

Through acquisition and licensing, Alita is building a pipeline of innovative, Phase I to Phase III drugs and biologics that target conditions of the uro-genital tract. Alita specifically targets product candidates that have clinical proof of concept and address therapeutic challenges faced by clinicians.

Having successfully assembled a strong and experienced senior management team with proven track records in drug development, the company is capable of successfully designing, implementing and executing the clinical development programs and regulatory strategies required to efficiently and effectively commercialize such a pipeline of therapeutics.

By combining a long-term perspective and a highly experienced management team with a growing pipeline of later-stage products that address unmet medical needs, Alita is able to increase the likelihood of regulatory approval and commercialization.

In May 2007, Alita licensed its first product, AP-89, a biologic targeting an initial indication of reducing the frequency of uncomplicated recurrent urinary tract infections. With this product in development, Alita is demonstrating the ability to design and execute clinical development programs as well as to manage and establish critical relationships with partners, FDA, key lead investigators, and other important stakeholders.
