Vice President Research & Development
Dr. Mulcahy is responsible for the research and development activities for Alita's portfolio. Prior to joining Alita, Dr. Mulcahy was VP of Clinical Operations at Duramed Research, the proprietary drug division of Barr Pharmaceuticals, Inc. While at Duramed, Dr. Mulcahy was responsible for guiding strategic development of the brand Barr Research business unit and determining clinical development and regulatory affairs strategies.
Prior to joining Barr, Dr. Mulcahy held executive positions in Clinical Research at Teva Pharmaceuticals and Hoechst AG. Dr. Mulcahy began his pharmaceutical career at Merck Research Laboratories.
With over 30 years of experience in Research and Development, Dr. Mulcahy has been responsible for the development and management of multi-disciplinary teams in a variety of therapeutic categories. Dr. Mulcahy has lead clinical teams in cardiovascular, CNS, women's health, men's health, OTC-switch, urology, and vaccines. Dr. Mulcahy began his pharmaceutical career at Merck Research Laboratories where he was awarded a Doctoral Study Fellowship.
He earned his Ph.D. in pharmacology from Temple University School of Medicine, an M.S from Drexel University and his B.A. from Arcadia University.
